The Brief:

Our clients were looking to create a high-quality family media lounge in a large open plan barn conversion recently purchased. The brief was to provide a turnkey solution to deliver and manage all of the required works, and to create a room that would serve both as a comfortable TV lounge, whilst also providing a high-performance movie experience for all of the family to enjoy, intergrated with the beautiful interior.

As well as the cinema, a dedicated Hi-Fi den, with vinyl and hi-res digital streaming, multi-room audio around the property and a solid WiFi/data network, and finally SkyQ distribution was required.

 

 

Our Solution:

With the brief in mind, we conducted a home survey to review what was required. We provided their options at various prices and performance levels, to which we then invited the clients to our showroom to demonstrate. A Meridian Audio home cinema system was chosen. This included a 5.1 DSP active loudspeaker system, with elegant floor standing models and a 65" OLED TV positioned on a dedicated wooden AV cabinet, to compliment the room. Operation of the system is courtesy of a Control4 home automation system, featuring a dedicated custom programmed all-in-one touch screen remote control along with tablets and smartphone App.

 

Overview:

To deliver the system we managed the project from start to finish. Our team initially first fixed all of the discretely hidden wirings which were required inside and out, as this was a retrofit installation. With the wiring installed we were able to focus on the completion of the work. A thorough hand over was carried out with the clients, ensuring a full understanding of how things work.

 

Specification:

Featuring Meridian Audio DSP digital active loudspeakers and AV hardware. The room-filling 5.1 configurations delivering powerful and detailed room-filling sound surround sound, along with crisp and colorful 4K HDR picture quality. The system was fed with Sky Q, Amazon, and a Sony 4k blu-ray player. Operation is via a Control4 Neeo all-in-one and an App, providing simple easy to use functionality.

 

Conclusion:

The end result is an elegant high-performance system worthy of such a property, that can be used day to day as a TV lounge or as an impressive home cinema system. Simple and easy operation makes using the system an absolute pleasure and is used by the clients every day, making it a sound investment and great value. One very happy family!
